Hard cloisonne pins continue the fine-art tradition of glass enameling started in China centuries ago. It is the most beautiful and expensive lapel pins, made from hand-pouring powered glass into the recesses background. Copper is the only material to do it. After being baked at a very high temperature over 1700F(800°C), the glass enamel is sanded and polished to be flush with the metal lines that separate the colors.
